Best Seasons for Trekking in Annapurna Region!

The best seasons for trekking in Annapurna region via the Annapurna Royal trek are the autumn (mid-September to mid-December) and the spring (March to May). These months have warm days with cool nights and mornings. The crystal-clear weather during these months offers outstanding views of mountains as well as landscapes. Though autumn and springs are the best seasons, winter can be an option too. If you dislike crowd and hot temperature then, you even can trek in winter (December to February) season. In the spring and autumn periods, the trails are crowded.

Do experience and Fitness are Required for the Royal Trek?

Trekking in Annapurna region via Annapurna Royal trek, you don’t require earlier trekking experience but minimal fitness is required. Royal trek is a comfortable and continuous 5 to 6 hours walk in a rocky and farmland. The trails have both ascending and descending path, so some stamina is necessary. It is recommended to exercise regularly such as running, jogging for several weeks prior. This will improve your stamina and strength. Altitude sickness can be a problem for some trekkers which is common while trekking in the Himalayan region like Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp. Proper rest, drinking plenty of water, and appropriate acclimatization time can be helpful to reduce the altitude sickness problem. Furthermore, you don’t need climbing skills or techniques of using climbing gears for this trek.

Trekking Trails of Annapurna Royal!

The trekking trails of Annapurna Royal starts from the city of lakes; Pokhara and then follows the foothills of Kalikasthan (1370m), Syaklung (1730m), and Chisapani (1550m). The Annapurna Royal trail passes along the tranquil ranges with hills all around that leads you towards the easygoing route with an occasional uphill and downhill. Pokhara residing at the foot of the Annapurna range is considered as the second home to tourists. Walking through the foothills of some glorious forested ranges, you reach Kalikasthan; the starting point of the trek. The trails then take you to the beautiful village of Gurung community. Hiking up to the terraced farmlands, you will be blessed with the spectacular mountainous views including Annapurna range, Mt. Machhapuchchhre, Mt. Lamjung, and Mt. Langtang. Trekking to Syaklung from Kalikasthan passes several antique villages of different communities specially Gurungs via rhododendron forests. Syaklung provides you with an opportunity to experience the unique culture and traditions of Gurung and observe the local lifestyle. Within five to six hours of walking through the rhododendron and sal forests, you reach Chisapani. Chisapani offers you the panoramic view of Annapurna ranges and surrounding mountains. Afterwards, we return to Pokhara following the same village and forests trails. Finally, we conclude our Annapurna Royal trek at Begnas Lake witnessing the beautiful sunrise view over this lake.
